Home-based Freelance Work

Front Room Enterprises is a home-based freelance writing and website content business run from a comfortable front room just a little northwest of Austin, TX.

The owner/author is still very much involved with a day job and is in no particular hurry to begin relying solely on the home business as a primary source of income. But building a successful business is a constant focus, and there is progress every week. The writing and web content business activities will come along in their own time, and the pace of the day job will continue to determine the pace of the home business for some time to come.

The primary thrust of the business today is to build a solid foundation and gain additional experience in several disciplines: non-fiction writing, writing web content, web design, website promotion, etc. All good things in their own time.

Calendar

The 2008 Deist Calendar. This is the initial prototype calendar in a planned series of calendars to be sold in the local Austin area. Other calendars planned are: Cedar Park Calendar, Round Rock Calendar, Pflugerville Calendar and at least one Austin calendar.

How To

I have written how-to articles for a web site called HowToDoThings.com for some time now, but all good things must end. I enjoyed my time there and the contributions I made, but they changed their revenue model, and, unfortunately, it is no longer worth my while to write for them.

Recent Efforts

There are a great number of things that are going on here during the holidays. My old BellBlvd.net site should re-launch at year's end as Bell Boulevard - A Green Guide to Living in the Austin area. The site will feature all things green and frugal, but with a down-to-earth twist. Green is the way to go, but the area around Austin is not quite as weird as Austin itself, so....

Chat with ME Live

My opinion site is found at IMNSHO.com. It is mostly political commentary plus some parody material from Usenet. It needs updating badly.

Contests

I haven't entered much, but the results are encouraging so far. I do think I'll enter more.
